Discovery of South India and Sri Lanka
Sylvie Charpie
Since 1999, we had explored thousands of kilometers across South India, from the west coast and Kerala: Varkala, Allepey and Cochin, through the mountains of Munnar and Otty, and up to the old kingdom of Mysore, in Karnataka. We discovered a land of a thousand colors and scents, one nation united and diversified, rich with tremendous monuments and among the most fascinating landscapes in the world.
We experienced the traditional weddings, assisted religious ceremonies, met the weavers of saris, and shared the meal of villagers on banana leaves. We participated to the picking of tea plantations and rice transplanting, on barefoot and in deep water. Today, we want to share those authentic and sometimes, unexpected moments with our hosts.
With my business partner Mr.Baskaran Sivalingam, we have furrowed Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka for many years now, with groups of Swiss and French traveler’s. Previously, the visits proposed by Meya Travel were directly offered to customers through an extensive network of friends, in the Geneva area. Since June 2013, a travel agency had been created in Pondicherry, pictures are available on our website.
